Oh, wow, what a wonderful story (and family!!!)! I am so glad you were able to help Monkey, though totally understand how tricky and challenging that decision must have been.

Looking forward to checking out your blog, too! Love reading about other larger families with young kids!

Thanks for sharing. I am currently pregnant and having to wean my 20 month old who is NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT AT ALL. My supply, like yours, is gone and she screams and screams. I am sad for her, but also so thankful to have had that 20 months with her. I appreciated knowing that I am not the only one to have had my supply go away and that it is okay for her to wean. Not my perfect image of the breastfeeding journey with her, but it is what it is. I will be thankful for what we have had.

My nursing story is very similar to this. I worked really hard to nurse number 3 but he weaned around 9 or ten months when I was ten weeks pg with his brother. This was not what I wanted or planned but it worked out. (An added bonus was the “baba” dance he did when he wanted his bottle!)

I so appreciate your story! What a fantastic gift you gave all your kids.

I’m currently pregnant and milkless but still nursing and looking forward to tandem nursing when the new baby arrives!

Somehow I missed that NPN posted this haha. 4 kids and as the youngest gets older and becomes more mobile things are getting harder and not easier. Tubby turned 1 yesterday and we are still nursing strong.
Summer, Laura and Lauren its comforting to know I am not the only mama who dried up. I read posts by moms who nurse through pregnancies all the time and often wonder why I could not. I tried to nurse through 2 pregnancies and both times dried up in the 2nd trimester. My body just can not do both it seems.
Thank you everyone for your positive feedback!

I loved reading this. I miss breastfeeding so BAD! LOL I still feel a mock “letdown” every time I see a nursing baby! For a long time, I felt it every time I would hear a baby crying!! Thanks for sharing this great story! <3
