About GoGreen Diapers

Leah Leverich and her husband, Don, launched GoGreen Diapers in 2010. They had three young children in diapers, and they realized that disposable diapers were simply not working – either financially or in terms of the impact the family was making on the environment.

They started exploring the cloth diapering world. After trying many of the diapers available commercially, they knew they could make some improvements – and so they designed the Champ cloth diaper! Eventually they also created the Adapt-a-Snap diaper closure.

With Leah and Don as the product creators and their three sons busy doing product testing and quality control, this is a true family business. Leah – who has a Ph.D in neuroscience – loves working from home full-time. Her kids stay home with her, and she is grateful that the arrangement has allowed her to become closer to her children. She does admit that she is pretty wiped out by the end of the day, though!

Wet/Dry Bag

Leah sent me three products to try for this review. The first is a cherry colored wet/dry bag. There are so many awesome things to say about this bag!

First and foremost – it is affordable! I have done some shopping, and these things can get expensive. Go Green wet/dry bags are only $8.99. And that is a great value, because these bags are very well made. They are two zippered with truly moisture-proof PUL compartments – one for clean, dry diapers and one for wet, used diapers. There is also a strap you can use for hanging, although I would not recommend using this bag as your full-time laundry bag. The bags are 12×14 – I’ve easily fit at least four wet prefolds and a couple of covers in there at a time.

Go Green wet/dry bags are the perfect size to take along with you for a day out. They are cute, good quality, and they come in a variety of fun, bright colors.

Moo Champ 2.0 Pocket Diaper

Isn’t this diaper sweet?! The Champ 2.0 comes in a variety of patterns and colors. I really wanted the Giraffe print, but it was so popular that it was out of stock at the time I ordered. The Cow print is a close second in cuteness for me, so that’s what we chose. There are also prints in stars, hearts, and camouflage, as well as a variety of brilliant colors to choose from.

I think we started putting Ailia in this diaper when she was 10 or 11 lbs. It is big – but the snaps have made it fit, and we’ve never had a problem with leaking. We’d never used a birth-potty diaper before with Kieran, so I was surprised that it could fit my little baby so well – and it’s obvious that it will also fit a much larger child.

Pocket lovers will be very pleased with Go Green’s Champ 2.0 design. From Go Green’s site:

The Champ™ features a total of 4 snap-down rise settings to provide true birth (7 lb) to potty (40+ lb) fit. Two rows of waist snaps allow waist and leg openings to be adjusted independently, ensuring a secure fit on chunky-thighed toddlers and skinny-legged newborns alike! Additionally, hip snaps are included to prevent “wing droop,” and crossover snaps allow waist tabs to be overlapped for a newborn size setting – and also make for secure and tidy storage of soiled diapers on-the-go! Dual Gussets™ Technology provides a double barrier against leaks, a fantastic feature for parents and babies alike.?

The openings at both the top and bottom of the pocket allow you to toss the diaper into the laundry without worrying about pulling the inner out – it will just come out in the wash. The dual openings make it easy to stuff, too.

The one gripe I have is that the stuffing (covered by the inner lining) tends to ride up above the top of the diaper. I’m sure that will stop happening after Ailia gets bigger – it’s just the snap setting we have it on right now. When I put one of my small inserts in (from a different diaper), the problem disappears.

At $15.95, these diapers are a steal – you can use them from birth to potty learning through multiple children. I’ll be getting more for Ailia!

For cloth diapering parents who prefer Velcro to snaps, Go Green has come up with a way to convert any snap diaper to Velcro (aka hook/loop closure). The Adapt-a-Snap has two rows of 10 waist snaps with standard 1-inch spacing; there are also two small tabs with snaps to snap onto the wings of your diaper.

Obviously the Adapt-a-Snap works perfectly with the Champ diapers, but you can use it (albeit not as neatly) with other snap diapers.

We are not a huge hook/loop closure loving family, but we do like to use it in those newborn days when getting the diaper change done (so you can nurse the screaming baby) is much easier with Velcro.

Once your little one becomes mobile and figures out how to pull the Velcro apart, just take the Adapt-a-Snap strip off and voila – a snap diaper that is a little harder to take apart. So smart!

You can get any of these great products and more by ordering directly from the GoGreen Diapers’ website. Amazon also carries several GoGreen Diapers products.
