I did a Whole30 from weeks 18-13 of pregnancy (30 days of whole foods, no dairy or grains, nothing processed) and like magic, my heartburn dissapeared.
During the reintroduction phase I found that cow’s dairy and wheat/gluten and anything packaged and sugary (like licorice or gummy bears) brought the heartburn back.
Of course, I’ve been struggling to stick with what works for the rest of the pregnancy so, yuck, a few times a week I get bad heartburn again. At least I know what it’s from!

That’s awesome! I struggle so much with food elimination – I commend you for sticking with it and really narrowing down your triggers! What were some of your favorite whole food meals?

For me, the baking soda worked really good, also I took it as pills, not stirred in water.

This is so helpful! I’ve struggled with heartburn for years and have dealt with it mostly through medication.

I never knew there were so many other dietary changes I could make that would help 🙂
