We use an apple peeler corer slicer, which makes getting the apples ready to cook much faster. We are going to be canning up our years worth of apple sauce this Friday. For $24 dollars and some time it’s also a cheap way to eat some good food. We use the hot canning method where you just heat the jars up in the oven then add the fresh hot cooked applesauce to the jars; Add the lid and they seal without having to boil the jars. It makes canning much faster. Thanks for sharing. Dionna codenamemama October 20, 2010 at 7:53 am I’ve never even heard of the hot canning method – thanks for mentioning it! Zoie @ TouchstoneZ TouchstoneZ March 18, 2011 at 1:42 am Apples are on sale right now, plus I want to get proactive about or apple tree this year. I was just trolling around for an applesauce recipe and then saw this one at the bottom of the muffin tin meals post. Perfect! Thank you.
