One Response to A Necessary Season: Potty Learning as a Step in the Journey

  1. Julie

Good article. I had a horrible time helping my oldest two girls potty train. It’s probably because of the attitude I had toward it. When I had my third child I had discovered and was reading up on EC and it was like a whole new world had opened up. I got a little controlling and had to back off a bit. It was actually a long journey to potty learning with lots of bumps in life thrown at us along the way including going back to not only diapers but disposables however once we switched gears and finally decided we were done with diapers the whole process went very quickly and much, much smoother than I expected. I think the fact that my son had been aware of his bodily functions practically since birth really helped the situation. I part time EC’d my next child and we had similar experiences for different reasons. Now we have a new baby girl and are ECing part time and I’d like to make it an enjoyable ride for all of us.
