This week we asked: What does fertility look like?

(Read more about preparing for parenting on our resource page, and enjoy this week’s articles on the theme.)

From Lani: “These are two 3-day-old embryos. They are beautiful and perfect. They may not have grown into the beautiful baby I was hopping for but they will always hold a place in my heart and brought me one step closer to my little love!”

“And three years later, miracles do happen… after all that, sometimes they happen without even trying.”

Lani blogs at Boobie Time.

Jorje got rid of her IUD in November 2010 so that she could start TTC one last baby…

With the help of a babysitter taking the little one for a walk, Jorje got her BFP in May 2011!

Jorje blogs at Momma Jorje.

From Shannon: “Sewing is something that calms me down better than anything, so when we were trying to get pregnant this time, I decided to make baby blankets for all the pregnant mamas in our playgroup, plus a few extras so everyone would have a choice. The best part was that my favorite didn’t get picked, so I got to keep it for our baby.”

That baby certainly took its own sweet time. Here he is at the non stress test scheduled 41 and a half weeks, happy, healthy, and comfy as can be.

Shannon blogs at Pineapples & Artichokes.

From Kym: “My Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) chart from the cycle my son was conceived.”

“My first pregnancy test! I sent this picture to hubby (who had JUST deployed) with the subject of “So um…let’s talk about babies.” He was thrilled!”

Kym blogs at Our Crazy Corner of the World.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and perhaps a bit of luck, there’s a tiny little seed in that belly! The owner of the belly, Melissa blogs at Vibrant Wanderings and Photo Credit goes to Larissa Gomez Photography.

  1. These are such meaningful photos to represent fertility. I love the beautiful embryos, Lani — that’s incredible.

Thanks Lauren, It was a journey! I learned a lot about myself though it! And honestly wouldn’t change a thing! Yes it would have been nice to get pregnant quick and easily with out crazy meds, but I know I am stronger because of it and I appreciate every second i am with my son.. Who surprisingly was conceive naturally :)

  2. I love the embryo photo too! Fertility is such an amazing thing!

THANKS! It really amazes me that everything to bring a baby in the world is all right there in about 8 cells!

  3. It’s funny how you can focus on fertility so much at some points of your life and ignore it so easily during others. I’m in that weird time frame right now where I spot if I go more than four hours without nursing Little M, and it’s so interesting to remember how your fertility is linked to the babies that are outside of you too.

  4. Wonderful! Three babies later, I am still in awe of fertility and how babies come to be in our arms…

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. I think this was my favourite wordless wednesday so far! Wow, what a miracle, every time. TY for sharing, ladies!
