This week we asked: What does intactivism look like?

From Lauren: “When Mikko was 12 months old, he had to have a medically necessary surgery. It was awful. It was totally minor and not a big deal at all — and it was completely awful. You never want your sweet baby to have to go under the knife, even for a small thing. If parents had to be present during the circumcision procedure, I imagine there would be fewer circumcisions. If parents were even made aware of just what sort of ripping and cutting happens during a circumcision, I bet the rates would go down. Our boys are born the way they’re supposed to be, and to alter that is damaging physically and emotionally. I have two boys who are intact, and I’m so glad of that.”

Mama loves me just the way I am. Intact and proud of it!

Whole and beautiful, as God intended.

BabyE snuggled up with Mama at 8 days old. This could have been a much more traumatic day,
but instead Baby had never even had to leave the house yet!

There are much cuter ways than circumcision for baby boys to look like their papas!

Stefanie blogs at very, very fine.

From Jorje: “Proud to be expecting my only son and proud to have
educated myself to the point of choosing to leave him intact.”

“My naked, WHOLE son & I, protesting the AAP’s Circumcision stance.”

Jorje blogs at Momma Jorje.

  1. Woo — longest caption!! I win.

    That BabyE photo is heart-melting.

I love the sweet daddy snuggles, and the truth of that caption.

And could Spencer BE more squeezable?

  2. Oh, what precious intact bubs! Love the papa and baby picture. Great illustrations of intactivism! I’m glad that I learned about the lies surrounding circumcision before we were pregnant with Joseph :)

  3. Ah yes, Stefanie: lovely picture, and lovely point.
