This week we asked: What do your preschoolers look like?
(Read more about Natural Learning on our resource page, and enjoy this week’s articles on preschoolers.)
From Shannon: “I’m always amazed when Moira takes a big developmental leap. Her latest is the ability to come up with her own ideas without nudging from me. I showed her a box of mini clothespins, and she decided the best plan was to hang a little clothesline so she could ‘wash’ her dolls clothes.”
From Shannon: “She decided to make a drum after watching an episode of Cailou. I let her direct its creation, and then the problem solving when the string kept coming loose and the lid kept popping off.”
Shannon blogs at Pineapples & Artichokes.
From Lisa: “Beyond ready for preschool: Runs in and doesn’t look back…then cries when I pick him up because he doesn’t want to leave!”
Lisa C blogs @ My World Edenwild.
“‘Mom, I’m a dragonfly!’ (By that, I think he meant butterfly, and I’m pretty sure that’s his cocoon.)”

Mikko, here at three years old, is learning how to operate a sewing machine and helped his mama, Lauren, sew a mei tai for his little brother. Sometimes Mama could do with less help…but she’s trying to be a patient teacher! She’s found it helps to set up little ones with their own scrap fabric and let them do tasks they enjoy — like cutting, or pressing the sewing machine pedal.
Lauren blogs at Hobo Mama.
From Kristin: “Here are my preschoolers mixing up some octopus soup in the mud pie kitchen.”
From Kristin: “This summer we had three preschool-aged kids (!), and they all had a blast making and playing with this “house” on the beach.”
Kristin blogs at Intrepid Murmurings.
Always having fun!
From Dionna: “My preschooler is fascinated with superheroes and bad guys. And to him (for a little while longer anyway), mama is still Wonder Woman.”
Dionna blogs at Code Name: Mama
