This week we asked: What does working at home look like?

(Read more about balance in your personal and family life on our resource page, and enjoy this week’s articles on the theme.)

Because Daddy is working from home this Summer he gets to take reading breaks with the kiddos.

Mom, Sara, blogs at This Mom Loves…

From Shannon: “My husband’s on call rotation requires him to work from home nights and weekends about once a month. After an especially busy week of pages, this is how we all feel about that beeper (which has since been replaced by an alarm on his phone).”

Shannon blogs at Pineapples & Artichokes.

Lauren gets in some one-handed blogging during newborn Alrik’s nap.

Sam gets some babywearing time in with newborn Alrik while keeping up with the family DVD business.

Lauren blogs at Hobo Mama.

From Rebecca of The Other Baby Blog: Important VC

From Lisa: “When I work at home and let my preschooler join me, he gets busy rearranging my office. I promise I am not this messy!!”

Lisa blogs at My World Edenwild.

Jorje arranged to work at home during her pregnancy with Tyler. Tyler spent her first weeks on a Boppy on mommy’s lap, then in a cradle, playpen, and highchair – all parked right behind Jorje’s desk chair. Eventually they had side-by-side computers.

The view from Jorje’s desk (behind her) in 2001, Tyler playing in her versatile high chair.

Jorje blogs at Momma Jorje.

  1. These are so great — what a varied collection! The messy office made me laugh; kids really help when it comes to your work load, huh?

  2. I would love to work at home in a couple of years!
